Glastonbury Takes A Break For 2012

The famous UK festival Glastonbury is taking a break for 2012, for a number of reasons.

Michael Eavis the festival's organiser said there are many reasons Glastonbury is having to take a break this year. He said the main reason is because due to the 2012 Olympics there will be a shortage of port-a-loos up and down the country, also due to the Olympics there will be a lack of security and police for the festival.

Other reasons also include because every so often Glastonbury takes a fallow year with the most recent ones being in 2006, 2001. When a fallow year is taken this allows the ground to reset after the year before with loads of festival goers as you can expect the ground is pretty worn out. A fallow year is also good because it allows Michael Eavis to book big acts, because some you have to book well in advanced!

But no worries because Glastonbury will be returing in 2013 and registrations are being taken for the 2013 festival all ready!

There is no Glastonbury this year, but you can register for 2013 tickets now.
