Red Hot Chili Peppers Confirmed For Isle Of Wight Festival 2014

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been confirmed for the Isle Of Wight Festival 2014.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been confirmed as the Saturday Night Main Stage Headliner. It is the Red Hot Chili Pepper's only UK/Ireland Performance for 2014. It is also their first UK Festival performance since 2007.

The band, famed for their high-energy shows, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and have a back catalogue filled with hits including Give It Away, Under the Bridge, Scar Tissue and Californication.

The festival organisers also did the announcement in a very special way, they made a sand sculpture on Ryde Beach (Location on the Isle Of Wight) with the Red Hot Chili Peppers logo. Picture below of the announcement and also a video of the grand unveiling!!

Below the video and picture is what John Giddings, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers said about the announcement.

The grand unveiling of the sand sculpture:

Red Hot Chili Peppers are looking forward to performing at the Isle Of Wight Festival 2014 as they had this to say:
"To headline the Isle of Wight Festival is a once in a lifetime opportunity, following in the footsteps of Jimi Hendrix and The Doors. When we were offered the slot, we jumped at the chance…it will be our only show in the UK/Ireland this year…so we intend to make it really special."

John Giddings - The festivals organiser was also pleased about landing the band:
"Finally- we’ve got them! One of the most exciting rock bands of the modern era come to visit…and judging by the performances I have seen previously, will be a highlight in the music history of the festival…Rock the Wight!"
