The dates for the Isle Of Wight Festival 2014 are 12th - 15th June 2014.

However now the date for the first announcement has been confirmed the rumours have begun surrounding the announcement. So here we go
  • In an interview recently festival organiser John Giddings said that his dream headliners would be Kings Of Leon, Blur, Depeche Mode and Travis - so they are all contenders.
  • During an interview at the Isle Of Wight Festival 2013 John Giddings named dropped Blur, Fleetwood Mac & Red Hot Chilli Peppers as potential headliners: "I don't know who's going to be headlining. Maybe Fleetwood Mac, Blur, Red Hot Chili Peppers, who else could we get?". So that's twice now Blur have been mentioned in 2 different interviews, suspicious? However that's not new news John Giddings has been trying to secure Blur for a couple of years now, but is 2014 his lucky year?
  • He also said in a different interview at the Isle Of Wight Festival 2013 that he tried to get Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys but couldn't therefore this leaves them as contenders for 2014. Arctic Monkeys are also one of strongest rumours for 2014 currently, with them previously being announced for T In The Park but not in a UK Festival Exclusive which means they must be playing another festival next year and the Isle Of Wight Festival is one of the most likely.
  • John Giddings has said for many years now that 'when' Oasis reform he will do anything to make them play the festival. And with 2014 being 20 years since their first album (Definitely Maybe) then a reniunion is possibly on the cards, therefore if John Giddings will do anything to get them and they do play then Oasis could take to the Isle Of Wight next year!
  • John Giddings also recently tweeted a picture which suggested that David Bowie may be touring again. Does John Giddings know something we don't, for example that he is returning and one of his first dates will be the Isle Of Wight Festival??
  • In a recent interview Arcade Fire have said that they will need to get their wellies ready, therefore this is definite hint that they will play a festival next year, could the festival be the Isle Of Wight?
  • Someone on Facebook pointed out that Robbie Williams has a Isle Of Wight Festival gap in his schedule next year. His tour starts in Belfast on June 13th (Friday Of The Isle Of Wight Festival) however he could then perform on the Sunday (14th June) when he isn't performing anywhere.
  • The Isle Of Wight Festival also recently carried out a survey of to see who people would like the see at the festival in 2014 and the tick boxes were: Prince, Eminem, Fleetwood Mac, Franz Ferdinand, Calvin Harris, The Prodigy, Pharrel Williams, Rudimental, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro, Muse, Kings Of Leon, Streophonics, Eagles, Aerosmith, Justin Timberlake, Disclosure and an other box where you could submit your own act ideas. Does this possibly mean that the Isle Of Wight Festival may have all these acts on stand by and the acts that got to the top 3 votes they would get the call confirming their slot at next years Isle Of Wight Festival? And Biffy Clyro, Calvin Harris and Rudimental have all recently been confirmed to play the festival and they are on the list therefore could we assume that all the other acts are possibilities??? To read more about the announcement then click here.
  • In an interview with the Daily Echo the interview asked the question what about Rihanna for the Main Stage, and John Giddings agreed that she could be a possibility. John Giddings also asked the interviewer what he would think of David Guetta performing on the Main Stage over the weekend and whether or not it could be a success? To read that interview click here.

So there's a huge list of acts that could possibly be performing at next years festival but all we can do now is wait and see who gets confirmed.

The Isle Of Wight Festival tweeted a picture confirming that their would be a announcement coming soon, and this was the Tweet with the picture.:
'#AREYOUREADY??'

They then Tweeted the information of the dates, and this was the Tweet again with the picture attached:
'SAVE THE DATES...... #IOW14'
