First For UK Festivals

Next weekend Bestival will be taking place at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle Of Wight, and has amazing headliners such as Stevie Wonder, New Order and Florence + The Machine.

But Bestival sees the start of a worldwide phenomenon which is, live streaming the festival via Bestival's YouTube channel, the whole weekend will broadcast on YouTube if you would like to stay in the comfort of your own home and watch Bestival then YouTube is the place to go! It was also said that you would be able to watch the Live coverage from The Main Stage & The Big Top, the news came after Bestival curator Rob Da Bank announced that Bestival is now SOLD OUT!

This is what Rob Da Bank had to say about Bestival being the first UK Festival to be broadcast over YouTube:


"I've been watching festivals such as Coachella and Tomorrowland on YouTube and loving the futuristic new angle on showing festivals in a different light via a medium that nearly everyone in the music and festival worlds is tuned into. We're really pleased that Bestival is the first UK festival to go down this route."

More Acts For iTunes Festival Bill

More acts have been added to the iTunes Festival line up.

The Killers, Alicia Keys, Muse, Ellie Goulding, One Republic have been added to the line up. The Killers will be playing 11th September and will be supported by Jake Bugg, Alicia Keys will be headlining the 28th, Muse will be finishing this years iTunes Festival and headlining the 30th, It was announced that Ellie Goulding would be headlining the 26th September and would be supported by Haim, One Republic would support Matchbox Twenty on the 19th September.

Thousands Rock Out At Reading & Leeds Festival

Reading & Leeds stormed, Reading & Leeds this weekend with thousands of revellers turned up for a weekend of pure rock music, from The Cure to the Foo Fighters they all played Reading & Leeds, over the weekend.

The weekend included performances from The Cure, Kasabian, Foo Fighters, Paramore, Florence + The Machine, The Black Keys, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Vaccines, Kaiser Chiefs, You Me At Six, Enter Shikari, Bullet For My Valentine, Green Day, The Maccabees, At the Drive-In, Justice, Katy B, Two Door Cinema Club and many more.

The Cure headlined the Friday night (Reading Festival) and played hits like Boys Don't Cry, End, Lovecats, Close To Me, Want, Play For Today, Let's Go To Bed, Why Can't I Be You, Trust, Pictures Of You, Lullaby, Open, High, The End Of The World, Sleep When I'm Dead and many more.

The Foo Fighters headlined the Sunday night (Reading Festival) with a 27 long setlist, they also announced while on stage at Reading Festival that it would be their last show for a long time. The 27 strong set included Everlong, Best Of You, Wattershed, For All The Cows, Exhausted (First Time Played Live Since 2003), These Days, Times Like These, Walk, White Limo, Rope, My Hero, Alone + Easy Target (First Time Played Live Since 2008), Monkey Wrench and many more.

V Festival Rocks Hylands & Weston Park

The Stone Roses last night headlined Hylands Park, while over in Weston Park The Killers headlined V Festival there.


But there is one thing that only 2 UK Festivals do, that is V Festival and Reading & Leeds, they are the only two to have 2 different festivals in 2 different locations, for example V Festival takes place in Weston Park & Hylands Park. So yesterday (18th August 2012) The Stone Roses headlined Hylands Park, and today (19th August 2012) they will headline Weston Park.

Also Frank Ocean had to unfortunately cancel his performances at V Festival and was then replaced with Wiley, but unfortunately headliner for the 4Music Stage Nicki Minaj had to cancel her slot at both  her performances at V due to damage of her vocal cords.

More Acts Added To iTunes Festival Bill

More acts have been added to the 30 Day festival at The Roundhouse in London.

Acts added include The Milk, Bastille, Elbow, Bat For Lashes, Band Of Horses, Walk The Moon and finally Hot Chip. It was confirmed that The Milk will perform before Olly Murs on the 3rd September, Bastille will perform before Emeli Sande on the 5th September, Elbow will headline the 7th September with Bat For Lashes performing before them.

Band Of Horses will open up the 8th September before Jack White takes to the stage, Walk The Moon will be down to earth on the 13th September to support P!nk and finally Hot Chip will headline the 29th September.

The whole line up currently looks like this:

This Year In Festivals..... So Far!

This already has been a great year for British Music Festivals, despite Glastonbury taking a break for 2012 due to the Olympics and other reasons. Other festivals have had a great year.

It all started this year with Download Festival with acts playing the weekend like The Prodigy, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Chase & status, Biffy Clyro, Soundgarden, Tenacious D, Machine Head, Megadeth, Slash f.t Myles Kennedy, You Me At Six, Rise Against and many more. Black Sabbath headlined the Sunday Night and played songs like Paranoid, Iron Man, Dirty Women, Children In The Grave, The Wizard and many more.

Capital's Summertime Ball
On the same Sunday that thousand of rock fans were listening to some of their favourite rockers at Donington Park, thousands of Capital FM's listeners were arriving at Wembley Stadium to see some of todays biggest acts, which included Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Conor Maynard, Cover Drive, Flo Rida, Kelly Clarkson, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Example, Pitbull, and many more. Katy Perry you headlined the show performed hits like Hot N Cold, Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F), Part Of Me, Wide Awake, Firework and many more.

Isle Of Wight Festival
The Isle Of Wight Festival begun on the Thursday when the festival hit national headlines due to the amount of rain the car parks were water logged so no cars could enter the site due to mud, so in the end people ending up sleeping in their cars because there were so many queues of people trying to enter the site. The ferries getting onto the island were packed and at the terminals there were to many cars so ferries were forced to wait in the solent,if you like to read more about the traffic chaos then click here.
But despite the traffic the weekend turned out to be amazing with acts like Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Elbow, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Biffy Clyro, Example, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Labrinth, Madness, Noah and The Whale, Lana Del Rey, Groove Armarda, Magnetic Man, Caro Emerald, DJ Fresh, Professor Green, Wretch 32, Kelis, Katy B, Stooshe and many more.
Bruce Springsteen the Sunday Night headliner's set included hits like Twist And Shout, Born In The USA, Born To Run, Glory Days, The River, Wrecking Ball, Atlantic City, Dancing In The Dark, Out In The Street and many more.

Radio 1's Big Hackney Weekend
While thousands of revellers were making there way to go to the Isle Of Wight Festival right outside the Olympic Stadium, Radio 1's Big Hackney Weekend featured acts like Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kasabian, Dizzie Rascal, Ed Sheeran, Florence + The Machine, Nicki Minaj, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Plan B, Example, Professor Green, Rizzle Kicks, Chase & Status, Magnetic Man, Rita Ora, Rudimental, Jack White, Lana Del Rey, Emeli Sande, DJ Fresh, Nas, Wretch 32, B.o.b, Sean Paul, Flo Rida, will.i.am, Labrinth, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, deadmau5, Nero and many more.
Rihanna headlined the Sunday night playing hits like We Found Love, Only Girl, Talk That Talk, Umbrella, S&M, Rude Boy, What's My Name?, Birthday Cake, Where Have You Been, Don't Stop The Music, Disturbia and many more.

Hop Farm
Hop Farm festival was taking place at Hop Farm in Kent, the line up for Hop Farm included Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel And The New Blood Orchestra, Suede, Ray Davies, Damien Rice, Richard Ashcroft, Kool And The Gang, Primal Scream, My Morning Jacket, The Stranglers, Maximo Park, Nitin Sawhney and many more. Bob Dylan's set included All Along The Watchtower, Cry A While, Love Sick, Can't Wait, Spirit On The Water, Like A Rolling Stone, Tangled Up In Blue and many more.

T4 On The Beach
T4 On The Beach one of the only festivals to take place on a beach rocked Western Super Mere sea front on the 1st July, acts included The Midnight Beast, Taio Cruz, Stooshe, Lawson, Devlin, Skepta, Marina & The Diamonds, The Wanted, Little Mix, Maverick Sabre, Alexandra Burke, Conor Maynard, Tulisa, Wretch 32, Dappy, Rita Ora, DJ Fresh, Professor Green, Labrinth, Rizzle Kicks, Cover Drive and more.
Each act only played a couple of songs, The Wanted opened the show playing All Time Low, Glad You Came, Lightning and chasing the sun. Chart topper Taio Cruz played There She Goes, Trublemaker and Break You Heart. Labrinth also played 4 songs which were Express Yourself, Let The Sun Shine, Last Time    and Earthquake f.t Wretch 32.

T In The Park

Wireless Festival took place the same weekend as T In The Park, but Wireless Festival took place in Hyde Park in London, the line up included Rihanna, Drake, deadmau5, Nicki Minaj, Jessie J, The Roots, Afrojack, Example, Rizzle Kicks, Maverick sabre, Tulisa, Pitbull, Wiz Khalifa, Labrinth, Professor Green, Rita Ora, Knife Party, Calvin Harris, Nero, Feed Me, The Weeknd, Kaskade, D'banj, Lloyd, Stooshe, Chiddy Bang, Ms. Dynamite, Jaguar Skills, Far East Movement and many more.
Drake headlined the Saturday Night and played hits like Over, Forever, Headlines, Up All Night, Make Me Proud, The Motto, Lord Knows and many more.

Hard Rock Calling
A week later and Hyde Park is playing host to another festival that included some world class acts like Bruce Springsteen & The E street Band, Soundgarden, Paul Simon, Iggy & The Stooges, John Fogerty, Cold Chisel, Lady Antebellum, Christina Perri, The Mars Volta, Amy Macdonald, Big Country, Lawson, James Walsh, Kids In Glass Houses, Alison Krauss & Union Station f.t Jerry Douglas.
During Bruce Springsteen's set he had a special guest for the songs I Saw Her Standing There and Twist And Shout, and the special guest was Sir Paul McCartney. Paul Simon headlined the Sunday Night and played songs like Still Crazy After all These Years, Late In The Evening, The Boxer, The Sound Of Silence, Gumboots, You Can Call Me Al, Kodachrome and many more.

Latitude
While acts took to the stage in Hyde Park for Hard Rock Calling over in Suffolk Latitude was taking place, which featured acts like Bon Iver, Elbow, Paul Weller, Laura Marling, Metromony, Ben Howard, White Lies, The Horrors, Wild Beasts, Lana Del Rey, Janelle Monae, Rochard Hawley, Bat For Lashes, Yeasayer, SBTRKT and many more.
The legendary Paul Weller headlined the Sunday Night during his set songs included The Eton Rifles, Town Called Malice, Broken Stones, Fast Car/Slow Traffic, Wake Up The Nation, 22 Dreams, Into Tomorrow, The Attic, Art School, Start!, Dragonfly and many more.

Camp Bestival
Camp Bestival is a family friendly Festival curated by Bestival creator Rob Da Bank, the festival has the historic back drop of Lulworth Castle in Dorset, this year the line up included Happy Mondays, Hot Chip, Kool & The Gang, Chic f.t Nile Rogers, Earth, Wind & Fire Experiance f.t Al Mckay, Stooshe, Rizzle Kicks, Rolf Harris, Jimmy Cliff, Adam Ant & The Good, The Mad & The Lovely Posse, Bellowhead, Spector, The Cuban Brothers, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Redlight and many more.
Camp Bestival also features Stage Shows this year some stage shows included Dick And Dom, English National Ballet, Fantastic Mr Fox Opera, Mr Tumble, Shrek the Musical, The Gruffalo Live, The Wall Of Death and more. It also includes comedy shows this year includes, Jimmy Carr, Rufus Hound, Michael Winslow, Benny Boot and more.

Global Gathering
Global Gathering which takes place at Long Marston Airfield in Stratford Upon Avon, this years line up included chart topper Tinie Tempah, Chase & Status, Skrillex, Maverick Sabre, Afrojack, Knife Party, Zane Lowe, Feed Me, Jaguar Skills, Magnetic Man, Ms. Dynamite, DJ Fresh, Labrinth, Friendly Fires, Nero, Sub Focus, Flux Pavillion.
After Tinie Tempah had performed at Global Gathering he tweeted 'Global Gathering 2012 was EPIC!!! A massive thanks to everyone who came to see.. Still Buzzing!!' However this was not the first time Tinie Tempah has played Global Gathering he also played last years festival.
