Sir Elton John's First Every UK Festival - Bestival 2013

Sorry for the delay on this post.

Sir Elton John played Bestival last weekend (5th - 8th September 2013) along with a whole host of other acts.

Other acts that performed included Saturday Night Headliner Snoop Dogg, Friday Night Headliner Fatboy Slim, Chic featuring Nile Rogers, Franz Ferdinand, The Flaming Lips, M.I.A, Pretty Lights, DJ Fresh, Tom Odell, Jessie Ware, Wu-Tang Clang, Rudimental, Bastille, Crystal Fighters, James Blake, Disclosure, Johnny Marr, Knife Party, Carl Cox, Lissie, John Newman, The Roots, Bombay Bicycle Club, Dub Pistols, The Strypes, Sinead O'Connor, and many more.

Sir Elton John headlined the Sunday Night of Bestival, who is celebrating its 10th Birthday this year, performed many of his songs including songs of his new album 'Diving Board'. Bestival was Elton John's first ever UK Festival therefore was a special performance not only for Bestival, but for Sir Elton John himself. Elton John's performance was also recorded live and is available to purchase here. Elton John also recently won the first ever Brits Icon award which is an award that celebrates one of British Music's most influential artists, and who have had a lasting impact on UK Culture.

Snoop Dogg headlined the Saturday Night and blew the crowd away with his performance as people came away saying how he was one of the best acts they'd ever seen live. Fatboy Slim took to the Main Stage to headline on the Friday Night, as he played in Bestival's first year and then came back to perform in their 10th, Fatboy Slim's performace was titled 'Fatboy Slim's Bestival Birthday Bash', and his set was also recorded live on the Main Stage and you purchase that here.

Rob Da Bank (Bestival's Organiser) posted a picture on his Facebook of Nile Rogers and Sir Elton John
backstage, and he said:
'One legend finishes playing, another about to get changed into his stage outfit :)'
And the picture is to the right ------->

The location for Bestival is also rather strange for 361 days of the year its known as Robin Hill Country Park, on the Isle Of Wight (Which also hosts the Isle Of Wight Festival) but for the other 4 days the family theme park turns into the location for one of the biggest music festivals in Britain.

Bestival celebrated its 10th Birthday this year and during those 10 Years it has played host to some of the biggest names in music including Stevie Wonder, Bjork, The Cure, The Prodigy, Massive Attack, Kraftwerk, Amy Winehouse, Underworld, Elbow, Primal Scream, Pet Shop Boys, Scissor Sisters, Basement Jaxx, My Bloody Valentine, New Order, Pendulum, The Flaming Lips, Dizzee Rascal and they're just some of the headliners from the past 10 years! And last year they won Best Major Music Festival at the Festival Awards.
